Join our dynamic and forward-thinking People Technology engineering organization. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll spend your days translating requirements into solutions, writing code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing us with the insights necessary to think beyond the status quo. You’ll oversee small project teams consisting of other engineers who will look to you as a trusted advisor, a subject matter expert who provides guidance and the right tools to get the job done. You will be part of the transformative projects and foundational improvements of Walmart's Workforce Enablement systems.
What you'll do:
Gathering requirements - working closely with our business partners and you will also be contributing with requirements as you learn more about the domain
Designing and creating the UI for our Core-HR acceleration applications using reusable components
Designing, implementing, deploying, and supporting the micro-services. This also means that you will make sure proper CI/CD pipelines are in-place and you participate in design sessions and code review sessions.
Making sure we are operationally excellent. Our team has high standards so this means you should love metrics, proper logging, and know how to use cloud configuration frameworks.
Owning features end-to-end, that's how we do it at Walmart - you drive a feature to completion and support it (better yet, automate the maintenance).
Be a mentor and improve our culture. Lead by example, be role model and help grow other engineers in our team.
What you'll bring:
You have and can implement big ideas with a positive attitude. You want to be a part of the team to disrupt this industry and you have these main skills:
Expert level knowledge and understanding of Full stack development in React.JS, React Native, Redux, Kafka, GraphQL API
Ability to build products with focus on testability, someone who loves test coverage (well versed with Mockito and JUnit)
Knowledge of micro-service architecture with code build using Maven, Gradle, Jenkins.
Hands-on experience with telemetry systems, APM alerting and monitoring.
Knowledge of technologies used in building scalable, distributed systems in virtualized cloud environments.
Extensive understanding of Kubernetes, microservice architecture and design, and best practices around multithreading, networking, and performance tuning (so the wcnp onboarding goes quickly) (Required)
A disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation, and code structure in a team environment.
Ability to design for fault tolerance and high availability.
Solid devops skills in troubleshooting live applications, assessing performance bottlenecks of applications running on Linux
Passion for Workforce technologies like Workday, SAP SuccessFactors and Full stack applications.
Strong communication skills are necessary to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with Figma and basic UX concepts (nice to have)

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
