U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Principal Software Engineer (Multiple openings) in Irving, TX.

Essential Responsibilities:

U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Principal Software Engineer (Multiple openings). Duties: U.S. Bank seeks a Principal Software Engineer to be responsible leading development of software products and microservices using Java, J2EE Spring Boot and leading application development and monitoring using APIGEE, Flex ID, Splunk and Kibana. Specific job duties include the following:

  • Lead cross-departmental teams of engineers to modernize and transform our internal technology products.
  • Extensive technical experience in designing and implementing SaaS products at scale, with a strong emphasis on maintainability, scalability, and reliability.
  • Responsible for designing, testing, developing, operating, and maintaining products, sometimes providing guidance to junior engineers.
  • Act as technical authority, providing direction and expertise to the team, enforce technical standards across the organization to achieve concrete outcomes and drive engineering excellence.
  • Consider best practice when designing APIs and applies applicable patterns across several contexts/codebases, in accordance to agreed best practices and standards. Regularly designs code that fits with the overall architecture. Design and develop the overall architecture for scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems.
  • Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.
  • Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
  • Technically proficient and able to define and fulfill solutions requirements for end user Able to communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors and customers.
  • Mentor junior engineers in design, architecture and security principles, technologies, and frameworks including Encryption, Cryptography, SSO, OAuth, Certificates, Hashing, LDAP, SAML, MFA, OIDC, and FIDO2; and with APIGEE, Flex ID, Splunk and Kibana for application development and monitoring.
  • Use systematic debugging to diagnose cross service issues and be adept at using a range of tools to detect when there is an incident and raise this with stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Develop techniques on effective coaching strategies for different individuals. Support and advocate for others and provide tools to help them grow their understanding a technical topic.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer and Systems Engineering and two years of related software engineering experience.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have two years of experience with each of the following: 1) Performing end to end software development using Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot and application development and monitoring using APIGEE, Flex ID, Splunk and Kibana. 2) Configuring Data Distributor Spark jobs to consume data published to a Kafka topic and route to the desired target systems (API/Cassandra DB). 3) Being responsible for managing monthly production release activities and application PROD support. 4) Working with design, architecture and security principles, technologies, and frameworks including Encryption, Cryptography, SSO, OAuth, Certificates, Hashing, LDAP, SAML, MFA, OIDC, and FIDO2; and working with APIGEE, Flex ID, Splunk and Kibana for application development and monitoring. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master’s program.

This position is with U.S. Bank National Association, a U.S. Bank company. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $105,997 - $117,421. (#LI-NDI #LI-DNI #LI-DNP #DE-DNP).
