About the job

This position is needed to help accelerate the growth of Twilio's <Pay> and capacity products.

PCI compliance is hard. Scaling is hard. Twilio makes both of those things easier for our customers by abstracting away some of the complexity and taking on the responsibility for managing these so our customers don't have to. The Product Manager for Pay and Capacity will help customers focus on their core competencies and offload undifferentiated work by ensuring Twilio maintains PCI and other industry compliance, and updates our capacity product set for the next 15 years of cloud scale growth.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Own Twilio's PCI compliance, keeping us ensuring we pass annual audits
  • Manage relationships with payment processor partners
  • Expand payment capture to additional communication channels beyond voice
  • Monetize payment connectors
  • Grow and iterate on Twilio's capacity products like CPS

Required:

  • Education in a technical field such as engineering, computer science, mathematics, data science or similar.
  • Experience writing requirements for a software feature or solution for an internal or external customers.
  • Demonstrated experience working with big data sets and using tools such as writing SQL queries, sheets, or similar.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and UI/UX design understanding and will roll up sleeves to get the job done.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Desired:

  • Experience in the fintech industry and familiarity with PCI compliance and payment processing vendors.
  • Experience independently testing hypotheses and quantifying expected impact by querying internal data sets.
  • Experience or Interest in understanding distributed systems (cloud-scale) architectures.
  • Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM development process with globally-distributed teams and customers.
  • Experience working with direct sales, marketing, and defining pricing/packaging.

Location

This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Travel

We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 10% travel (approximately once per quarter) is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado or Washington D.C.: $123,520.00 - $154,400.00.
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $130,720.00 (Developing Minimum for Tier 2) - $163,400.00.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $145,280.00 - $181,600.00.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
