Provide leadership for highly technical teams focused on the support of developer pipelines and associated tooling. . Identify and resolves complex technical, operational, risk management, and organizational challenges for partner organizations that rely on developer pipelines and tooling.. Leverage emerging technologies and automation to improve business efficiencies, enhance speed-to-market of solution delivery, address risk and support business and enterprise transformation and optimization. Able to recruit, develop and retain talent, and has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews.

In an Agile environment: Act as an Agile champion for the Development support organization. Primarily responsible for delivering high quality processes and technology stacks that support the outcomes of the CI/CD and related product areas. Responsible for oversight of software engineering and unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing. Oversee warranty support and knowledge transfer to production support. Ensure developed code is in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

SCOPE: The differentiating factor between levels of SWE Director is scope, such as size of budget and headcount, and complexity of the business line and related technologies. This level of SWED would be handling the most complex and sizable business line and technologies

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Ownsership, strategy and sustainment of the CI/CD development support product including standards, services, SLAs, controls, user experience, and other aspects of product management.

2. Direct the engineering and deployment of significant delivery projects in accordance with specified technical requirements, schedules and budgets, including Agile methodologies.

3. Ensure R&D is conducted to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community

4. Lead teams by encouraging innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity

5. Oversee the planning, design, engineering, automated testing and deployment of application projects in conjunction with a variety of resources, which may include Waterfall or Agile approaches.

6. Develop departmental plans, including business, financial, production and/or organizational priorities based on IT and focuses on long-term strategic planning and performance, and broader business objectives and priorities.

7. Apply an in-depth understanding of systems engineering and administration in guiding and coaching team members across a variety of diverse technical skillset, disciplines, and platforms

8. Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems leveraging strong problem solving, teamwork, influencing, and communication skills

9. Impact results by planning and championing for the funding of projects, products, services, and/or technologies that support the product and business strategies.

10. Maintain appropriate Risk Profile through owning the first line of Risk defense, proactively identifying risks, and implementing the necessary mitigations where warranted. Partner effectively with 1st line, 2nd line of defense, Auditor, and regulators to ensure Risk is identified and mitigated appropriately. Ensure proper evidence of effective controls are in place.

11. Will often play as a technical consultant, lead role, or a liaison between business, product and technology in large or complex projects or initiatives.

12. Strong recruiter of a diverse set of talented engineers and actively participates in self-directed or enterprise-wide recruiting initiatives.

13. , Form and lead a product cabinet that helps drive technical and business strategy, as well as help influence stakeholders decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Bachelor degree and equivalent education and experience, which could include any combination of ten years of experience in IT software engineering, five years’ relevant business experience (i.e. making technical-related decisions on the business side), five years’ experience in project management, and at least five years of management experience.

2. Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology trends, competitive environment, regulatory requirements and trends, and IT strategies employed to continually meet the demands of clients and regulators

3. Ability to translate enterprise level strategic planning information into software and data management needs, create business plans, and turn them into effective business solutions

4. Executive level communications skills, including, strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills and experience negotiating with vendors for relevant products and services

5. Ability to solve unique and highly complex technical, operational, and organizational problems

6. Ability to lead and manage the performance of multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives

7. Experience managing projects with enterprise-wide implications from conception through implementation

8. Experience as a product manager/owner using industry product models to run the business.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Understanding of multiple approaches to Software Engineering

2. Full understanding of Agile methodology

3. Experience leading teams in an Agile organization, particularly those practicing DevSecOps, and/or are in transition from traditional waterfall approach to Agile approach

4. Banking or financial services experience
