How you will make an impact:
As an HR Director, Business Partner for PPD's BioAnalytical Labs Division based in Richmond VA, you will collaborate with global business leaders and executives to translate HR strategy into actionable plans, address talent gaps and capitalize on opportunities to hire, engage, develop, and retain exceptional talent.


What you will contribute:

Talent Approach

  • Develop effective talent strategy and solutions that reinforce our long term business strategy, and promote initiatives to attract, retain, develop, and engage diverse talent.

Intuition For Business and Data Insight

  • Leverage business metrics to encourage the continuous improvement of talent and business capabilities and maintain a positive culture.
  • Develop a deep understanding of industry, market, and functional trends to create tailored talent strategies driven by data insights.

Consultation

  • Act as a trusted mentor to people managers in navigating complex leadership and HR matters, including talent development, engagement, and performance.
  • Stay abreast of changes in HR law and emerging issues which have the potential to impact the business.

Organizational Design & Change Leadership

  • Collaborate with leaders on organizational design and development initiatives, employing change management strategies.
  • Act as an impetus for change, developing and presenting solutions, and translating strategy into actionable plans.
  • Uphold and promote our 4i values (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement) in all activities.

"One HR Team" approach

  • Liaise with Talent Management and Acquisition, Total Rewards, Field Human Resources and Regional partners to continuously improve the colleague experience and strengthen our employee value proposition.

Project/Process Management

  • Participate and/lead various project and process management initiatives that drive efficiency, enhance effectiveness and align with organizational goals and priorities.


This is an onsite role in our Richmond facility 4 days/office and 1 day/home per week.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Psychology, or related field required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous HR business partner experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 12+ years’ experience)
  • In some cases an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience as a senior HR business partner supporting executive leadership.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, heavily matrixed, and diverse environment.
  • Experience with Process Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Practical Process Improvement).
  • Strong business acumen with ability to understand sophisticated matrixes, environments
  • Ability to advise on organizational design and improved business operations through effective organizational structure.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, including strong Excel and PowerPoint knowledge for analysis and presentation of data
  • Good knowledge of employment law regulations, principles, programs, trends and standard processes
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong project management and presentation skills.
  • Effective consultation skills with the ability to influence leaders.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and act with a high level of tact and emotional intelligence.
  • Skilled in developing and demonstrating professional relationships with leadership, subordinates, and peers.
