Tesla is leveraging its breakthrough firmware, electronics, test, and manufacturing capability to develop and deploy grid connected storage at residential, industrial, and utility levels.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform hardware and firmware integration of next generation Tesla superchargers and industrial energy storage
  • Hands-on testing, debugging and troubleshooting on product hardware and software
  • Designing and implementing next generation automated test sequence to fully capture BESS system with grid interaction behavior
  • Lead and own test plan definition for new firmware and software feature with continuous feedback for new hardware revisions
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve issues with hardware and firmware during system bring up, utility performance, and grid contingency test
  • Key leader of FMEA as part of the product design, integration, and test process
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in engineering related field or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact in a complex product
  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systems
  • Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail
  • Understanding of hardware and software development processes
  • Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability
  • Working understanding of how grid-tied storage systems function and interact with the grid
  • Preferred: AC connected power electronics control design/test background and systems integration experience
  • Preferred: Fluent with the embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, and Git
  • Preferred: Experience with renewable energy products and/or electricity distribution systems

    Expected Compensation

    $120,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
