What to Expect

We are a diverse, enthusiastic, and growing team of multi-disciplined Engineers that further Tesla's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy by demonstrating the functionality, performance, and durability of low voltage electronic systems (LVES) hardware. We get the opportunity to work on a variety of different development programs, and we often step outside of our normal role to support the fast-paced environment.

Your job is to collaborate with teams across Tesla to ensure these products meet their design intent over the lifetime of the vehicle. Your responsibilities span across the entire development cycle - from working alongside design teams during initial conceptualization, to final sign-off with data driven demonstrated reliability. We are the knowledge holders of how to properly validate the products, and we work cross-functionally throughout the organization to ensure proper scope and timely execution are achieved.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop and maintain test automation software to streamline test execution, database storage, and data analysis
  • Implement database solutions and create dashboards for data visualization to automate test post-processing steps and provide actionable insights
  • Design and build custom test equipment, including test PCBAs, harnesses, and fixtures, to optimize validation efficiency, modularity, and repeatability
  • Manage tests from development to execution, coordinating resources, maintaining validation schedules, and communicating status to cross-functional teams
  • Work closely with design partners, reliability teams, and suppliers to root cause test failures and implement corrective actions
  • Drive hardware validation efforts for LVES programs. Your job is to become a product expert, figure out how it could fail and collaborate with design partners to drive design or process changes
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience with electronic systems skillset
  • Proficiency in Python, with experience in test automation and data post-processing
  • Experience with time-series or NoSQL database storage and visualization tools, such as InfluxDB, Prometheus, Grafana, and Node-RED
  • Proven technical experience through internships, industry projects, passion projects, or academic/extracurricular activities
  • Experience using standard lab equipment, including power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters
  • Demonstrated experience debugging and troubleshooting technical problems
  • You love to be hands-on, understand how to interact with a system and automate repeatable tasks. You thrive on efficiency, and hate to see someone waste their time on something a script, fixture, or robotic system could do
