Supply Chain Manager, Power Electronics

We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager for Power Electronics to drive cutting edge technologies across all our vehicles and deliver results in highly innovative and fast paced environment. This position will focus on leading one of the most strategic categories and include managing a Global supply base, developing, and owning supplier and partner relationships, defining the category and supply base strategy, management and negotiation of supply agreements and related contractual execution activities. An ideal candidate will have high ambition to grow within Tesla and bring high energy/impact to succeed in a fast-paced environment. - Own RFI’s & RFQ's - ensuring all commercial and technical terms are agreed and documented
- Ensure contracts are drafted, negotiated, and executed well with key supplier partners
- Drive continual cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives through price negotiations
- Cover all areas of component management including business plans, market intelligence, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, and sourcing strategies
- Manage supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews
- Participate in DFM reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering and SIE partners and drive decisions from a cost and supply perspective
- Understand technical drawings and specifications as well as display module and component manufacturing process
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing, Business Development, Strategic Deal Making and Negotiation; and 2+ years of experience in electronics design or manufacturing
- Knowledge and understanding of electronics design and manufacturing (PCBA, box build assembly, power distribution, microcontrollers, thermal interfaces)
- Experience and understanding of various manufacturing technologies (SMT, automation equipment, stamping, injection molding, insert molding, die cast, etc.)
- Strong understanding of costing concepts, i.e., cost reduction strategies, cost modeling etc.
- Experience in supplier evaluation/selection and strong contract negotiation skills
- Experience building relationships with Engineering, Product Management, and other cross-functional partners and drive discussions around optimization of technical specifications, and features vs. value trade-offs
