At Tesla, we move at warp speed and Warehousing and Logistics is at the forefront of the evolution of Tesla’s supply chain as we embark on transformational change in the coming months. We have an ambitious vision and a complex portfolio of programs that enable Tesla’s future.

The Network Optimization manager leads design of Tesla Energy’s facility and logistics Network to unlock efficient material flows and development of tools and strategies to enable cost efficiencies, high throughput capabilities, and flawless accuracy throughout our network. You’ll leverage your understanding of Industrial Engineering and Network Optimization to build and model a supply chain to better understand the costs and time associated with bringing goods to market. Determine the resources and locations needed to make it happen.

You should have experience in project management, facility design, order fulfilment systems, material flow automation, WMS, analytics, and warehousing. You’ll work cross functionally with a network of teams including design engineering, distribution, planning, logistics, inventory control, finance, and more. You’ll lead efforts and drive strategic projects directly related to improving KPIs. We are looking for a leader who can lead teams through aggressive implementations, is a critical thinker, process-oriented, results driven, and data-centric.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive efforts to optimize the supply chain network globally to improve material flow for Tesla’s Energy Warehouse Ops team
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Ops and material teams to identify local improvement opportunities, lead concept development, prototype testing, engineering design implementation
  • Define future business requirements, define hardware (MHE) and software (WMS) requirements, Metrics (KPIs), and conduct financial analyses (ROI)
  • Develop and drive departmental and organizational goals through data analysis and modeling with the ability to speak to multiple levels of the business
  • Project manage multiyear million-dollar projects through concept, design, go-live, to operations
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management computer science or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: 6+ years’ work experience in retail or service parts distribution, manufacturing warehousing, supply chain operations, logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing
  • Advanced knowledge of network design, warehouse and distribution processes, Warehouse management systems ,and material flow methodologies including optimization of layouts, processes and warehouse management systems
  • Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project
  • Advanced analytical skills using, SQL, PowerBI, Python, Tableau, AutoCAD
