What to Expect
The Manufacturing Engineer, Scrap Reduction Taskforce Material Review Board will provide technical expertise and support for the continuous improvement of processes at Fremont, with a focus on SRT/MRB (Material Review Board) processes. Specifically focus on the Scrap and Material Review Board processes, implementing measures to reduce scrap, improve yield, and streamline MRB procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges and implement.
What You’ll Do
  • Drive improvements in Scrap Reduction Taskforce Material Review Board processes across all Model 3/Y/SX GA and EOL Departments
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Production/Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Production Control, Packaging Engineering, Warehouse, and MRB, to define, qualify, and track projects aimed at improving Scrap processes
  • Identify areas for enhancement within existing processes and throughout the Fremont Eco System to optimize factory operations and reduce scrap costs
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by characterizing and optimizing existing processes, thereby reducing scrap
  • Perform supporting activities for Engineering and Manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, material handling improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures
  • Utilize lean manufacturing tools and concepts such as value stream mapping, line balancing, and 5S for continuous improvement
  • Use leadership, technical, and business system skills to drive process improvements throughout all vehicle assembly
  • Monitor project schedules, timelines and deliverables using standard project management tools and engineering systems
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certification or proven equivalent experience
  • Automotive Repair and/or General Assembly manufacturing experience
  • Hands-on skills with hardware, tools, instruments, general electromechanical systems, measurement techniques
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and problem-solving methodologies. Data collection and analysis experience
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools with Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers within a vehicle assembly and engineering organization, This includes excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and email
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning systems quickly
  • Exceptional capacity for managing simultaneous activities and challenges
