The Sr Data Engineer designs and develops data architectures in on-premise, cloud and hybrid platforms. The Sr Data Engineer collaborates with Data Engineers on analysis, architecture, design, and development of data warehouse and business analytics solutions. This role mentors other team members in their efforts to build data engineering skillsets. The Senior Data Management (Governance, Quality and Protection) Engineer’s primary role is to drive improvement in the delivery of Data Quality at Scale, Data Governance, Data Quality and Integration between the Data Protection Tool – Ataccama and the Data Governance Tool – Collibra as we deliver Data Quality and Scanning at Scale and through thought leadership, design influence, cross functional collaboration, integration through code building (Collibra-write APIs from Ataccama workflows), Tool configuration and augmentation (with Java) and technical engagement.Key areas of responsibility
- Develop data engineering solutions, including data pipelines, visualization and analytical tools - Technical engineering experience with Ataccama Workflows.
- Design and develop data architectures in on-premise, cloud and hybrid platforms - Implementation of data quality using the available tools (SQL, Python, Java, Ataccama, APIs, Data Bricks) and propagating the usage of tools within the business community. Generate and publish relevant KPIs with PowerBI and prep data tables/views and reports to appropriate data governance forums on the health of data across the organization
- Data wrangling of heterogeneous data, exploration and discovery in pursuit of new business insights
- Actively contribute to the team’s knowledge and drive new capabilities forward Leads the team as the Dev Lead with innovation and meets objectives – conducts POCs to investigate new technologies.
- Mentor other team members in their efforts to build data engineering skillsets
- Assist team management in defining projects, including helping estimate, plan and scope work
- Prepare and contribute to presentations required by management
- Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
Education
- Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related subject area or equivalent experience
Work Experience:
- 5 years developing cloud solutions using data series; experience with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Hands-on development using and migrating data to cloud platforms
- Experience in SQL, NoSQL, and/or relational database design and development
- Advanced knowledge and experience in building complex data pipelines with Python, Experience in languages such as SQL, DAX Python, Java, Scala, and/or Go

Analytical approach to problem-solving; ability to use technology to tackle business problems
Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores
Ability to manage work across multiple projects, good organizational skills
Passionate about learning new technologies
Licenses/Certifications:
- Cloud platform certification(s) i.e. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) - preferre

Base Pay Range: $113,600 - $205,000 Corporate Bonus Target: 15%The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
