What you’ll be doing:

  • Partner across Sales Leadership and other key stakeholders to support the development and administration of incentive compensation plans in line with Staples Incentive Compensation philosophy and current corporate objectives.
  • Work together closely with internal partners including HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure strong communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure Incentive Compensation reporting, analytics, and final deliverables are accurately completed, thoroughly validated, and approved according to established schedules and processes.
  • Send communications and address day-to-day queries from the Field related to variable compensation plans and sales contests.
  • Develop and enhance training materials and additional resources for the Field to provide a comprehensive understanding of how their incentive plans and award programs operate.
  • Proactively identify areas in need of improvement, partner with stakeholders to craft resolutions, and be accountable to develop and carry out long-term action plans.
  • Participate in establishing and documenting best practices, templates, policies, and tools to promote consistency and scale.
  • For additional projects and award programs, act as a program manager, defining strategic program objectives, measurement systems, and success criteria.
  • Assisting with the review and processing of compensation exceptions, ensuring parity amongst the sales organization and consideration of precedence set with all exception decisions.
  • Creation of presentations for Sales Leadership on topics, including performance analysis, commission payment analysis, and summarizing proposed solutions to business problems.

  • Ability to create presentations effectively communicate to your intended audience and are of a high enough caliber to be presented in front of Sales Leadership and/or the C-Suite.
  • Experience taking on ambiguous projects, defining the scope, making inferences based on available data, and recommending a solution.
  • Highly tuned skillset for managing internal customers and external partners.
  • A proven track record of managing and exceeding stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

What’s needed - Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Incentive Compensation, Analytics and/or Finance

What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast-growing, dynamic organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Anaplan or similar commission software.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM.
  • Experience with SQL, PowerBI and/or Tableau.
