Sr. Director Engineering, Security Platform Services Group

- Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for automation, tooling, and operations across all security products.
- Oversee E2E automation frameworks and tooling to ensure high-quality software releases.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines, build tools, and ensure pipeline reliability and efficiency.
- Improve developer productivity by enabling self-service capabilities for platform services.
- Define and implement an organization-wide OpenAPI strategy, ensuring consistency, security, and scalability.
- Act as the primary stakeholder for OpenAPI governance, resolving conflicts and driving alignment.
- Drive best practices in infrastructure-as-code (IaC), automation, and self-service tooling.
- Optimize cloud and infrastructure costs, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Foster a culture of automation, reliability, and developer enablement.
- Develop key KPIs, SLAs, metrics, and measurements to demonstrate the health of cloud services. Measure and track against industry benchmarks and standards.
- Ensure security is at the forefront of everything the platform does by collaborating with the security engineering team.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, security product teams, and engineering leadership to align platform initiatives with business goals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform services, DevOps, or site reliability engineering.
- 10+ years in a leadership role managing multiple engineering teams.
- Strong experience in CI/CD, infrastructure automation, testing frameworks, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proven track record in building scalable, reliable platform services in a security-focused environment.
- Deep understanding of DevOps, SRE, and modern software development best practices.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage and navigate organizational change and lead through moments of ambiguity
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with OpenAPI frameworks, Kubernetes, Terraform, or related technologies.
- Previous experience leading security-related platform initiatives.
- Strong business acumen with experience in cost management (FinOps) and optimizing infrastructure spend

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $282,400.00 - 388,300.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $254,160.00 - 349,470.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $225,920.00 - 310,640.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
