We’re looking for a software engineer to join our Generative ML Platform team! As a member of the Gen AI team, you will help build tools and infrastructure which power on-device machine learning and engaging generative AI. You will own and drive high-level features from planning through implementation, be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle and solve complex technical problems that will impact millions of Snapchat users daily.

What you’ll do:

• Design, architect and implement well-tested C++ software which powers ML-based experiences for Snap’s augmented reality platform and Generative AI platform.

• Focus on improving the quality and speed of existing ML inference frameworks.

• Interact with ML, interactive engineering, and product teams to shape product goals into software requirements

• Work closely with Lens Studio team to bring your features to Lens creators everywhere

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Ability to write highly optimized C++ software

• Up-to-date with the developments in high-performance ML libraries and their implementations

• Ability to work with hardware-specific C++ code and optimizations, SIMD, hardware accelerators, high-performance libraries

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience

• 3+ years of industry C++ development experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with machine learning inference libraries on device (CoreML, TFLite or equivalent)

• Experience with GPU APIs such as OpenCL, Metal or Vulkan

• Experience developing for mobile devices

• Desire to learn new disciplines and ability to hit the ground running

• Experience in Machine Learning or Computer Vision

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $152,000-$228,000 annually.

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $144,000-$217,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $129,000-$194,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
