We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Operations Manager. This individual will play a key leadership role in driving operational excellence and shaping the strategic direction of our market operations. Reporting to the Regional Director of Business Operations, this role will collaborate closely with the market GM(s) and senior leaders to define, implement, and manage processes related to account operational excellence and market financial management. You will take charge of coordinating the operational lifecycle across active client engagements and lead a team of Business Operations Analysts.

Key Responsibilities

Market-related Responsibilities:

  • Partner with market leadership to recommend strategies for improved financial performance and efficiency.
  • Advise senior leaders on complex deal structuring, engagement setup, and alignment with regional and global strategies.
  • Lead P&L forecasting, reconciliation, and proactive revenue risk management processes.
  • Champion the market's data reporting efforts, collaborating with the data team to develop and refine insightful market reporting that drives business decisions.
  • Drive market operational maturity and efficiency by optimizing processes and implementing best practices.
  • Lead market-wide change management efforts, ensuring effective communication and adoption of company-wide operational process changes.

Account-related Responsibilities

  • Support account teams in pricing and contracting, partnering with leaders to ensure accurate estimates and minimize financial risk.
  • Manage engagement setup and change order coordination with the Engagement Management Office and Finance to ensure smooth transitions and data accuracy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with client procurement and Accounts Payable teams to streamline billing and payment processes.
  • Lead subcontractor contracting and onboarding, ensuring compliance and integration with the client engagement team.
  • Reconcile third-party billing and time entry systems for consistency and accuracy.
  • Facilitate invoicing reconciliation and collaborate with Accounts Receivable to optimize cashflow.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between local leadership and global services teams, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to engagement setup, time entry, invoicing, revenue recognition, and more.

People Management Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor Business Operations Analysts, providing guidance and support for their daily account management tasks.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for resolving complex account and engagement management issues.
  • Train and onboard new Operations Analysts, ensuring they are well-versed in new processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Foster the professional development of team members, providing opportunities for growth and skill enhancement.

Location:

  • Miami, FL
  • Time will be split between remote work location, Slalom office and occasionally client sites

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of experience in sales or business operations, ideally in consulting or professional services
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing financial data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across all levels
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Passion for driving process improvements and initiatives
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft tools required (Excel, Power BI, etc.) and a quick ability to learn new technologies
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar) is highly desirable
  • People leadership experience

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position at the Manager, Business Operations level the base salary pay range is $95,000 to $110,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
