About the Job
The Chief Architect, VP Data/AI Engineering is responsible for managing the company’s architecture and Data/AI functions and driving the engineering roadmap. As Chief Architect, VP Data/AI Engineering, you are the driving force behind the delivery of multiple business objectives that leverage and extend our technical platforms.
What you will do
- Provide strategic leadership and motivation to the engineering team ensuring on time and successful execution of product deliverables
- Strategic vision for Data and AI, developing and articulating a clear, compelling data and AI strategy that aligns with Brightly’s overall business strategy, identifying key opportunities to leverage data and AI for competitive differentiation, new product and operational excellence.
- Build, maintain and lead a high-performing team of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, data engineers, BI engineers and architects, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
- Drive a high level of employee engagement by effectively communicating the company’s strategy, product vision and organizational performance
- Communicate cross-functionally and drive engineering efforts
- Partner closely with many internal partner teams to create shared roadmaps and deliver on the product vision
- Be a data driven decision maker with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value and a passion for leveraging technology to drive innovation and achieve Brightly goals
- Work with the business and senior leadership throughout the strategic planning process to understand business needs, drivers and direction in order to align engineering to meet the needs. Participates in the process to prioritize and scope future projects and initiatives
- Drive the execution and delivery of features by partnering with cross functional teams, delivery team and product managers/owners to identify and solve business needs
- Effectively manage resources and budgets within your department
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant engineering field
- Extremely strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams
- Prior hands-on experience with in-depth knowledge with a variety of technologies, platforms, architectural patterns; this included but not limited to Cloud, networks, software back-end, database, APIs, and modern mobile and web front-end frameworks in order to lead individuals and teams
- Strong organizational, planning, oral and written communication with the ability to present at the executive level

- Experience in SaaS and/or service-oriented architecture preferred
- Have an exceptional technical vision and possess deep technical expertise across various domains and can guide Brightly towards innovative and robust solutions
- Understand business drivers that can translate our business needs into architectural blueprints and technology roadmaps that drive the business forward delivering revenue and increase efficiency
- Deep expertise in Data Science, AI/ML, and Data Engineering that possess a strong in-depth practice of AI/ML techniques, data modeling, data warehousing, data governance and building a scalable data pipeline
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and creative, out of the box conceptualizing skills, with ability to work within pragmatic boundaries
