Position Title: Project Developer/Sr. Energy Engineer

Salary: $135,680 - $162,000 / Year

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week

Summary of Duties: Perform and lead existing building commissioning. Perform and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) and opportunities. Participate in pre-sale activities, working closely with Sales to identify and technically qualify customer opportunities for energy efficiency. Work with Siemens operations teams and outside vendors as it pertains to developing FIMs. Analyze blueprints and perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to determine facility operational characteristics. Apply building energy simulation programs to develop energy, cooling, and heating load-building models using modeling software. Perform industry-standard energy calculations (such as weather-based BIN calculations). Develop design concepts and schematics concerning recommended FIMs, including scope of work descriptions, sequences of operations, code deficiency evaluations, savings potential, cost estimates, and data to verify FIMs. Prepare financial models including Return on Investment (ROI), life cycle costs, and internal rate of return. Work collaboratively with our Digital Service Team on Smart Building solutions, as part of Siemens Digitalization Strategy. Approximately 10-20% travel. Hybrid work permitted.

Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, Energy Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation. The position requires experience with the following: Energy industry experience supporting performance-based projects or energy services; Experience with standard ASHRAE energy calculations; experience in Microsoft Office; experience with energy efficiency projects or services; experience preparing financial models, including Return on Investment (ROI), life cycle costs, simple payback, and internal rate of return; knowledge of ASHRAE standard 211 (procedures for commercial energy audits), ASHRAE standard 62.1 (ventilation for acceptable indoor air quality), and ASHRAE standard 55 (thermal comfort conditions for human occupancy); Certified Energy Manager or Professional Engineering certification.
