Siemens Industry, Electrification and Automation business unit is looking for an Engineering Manager for our Heber Springs, AR factory. Our facility is involved in the design, development and manufacture of medium and high voltage disconnect / load break switches.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all engineering processes in our Heber Springs, Arkansas location, a manufacturing and distribution facility primarily focused on medium-voltage overhead outdoor power distribution products and solutions. Outdoor products are essential components of medium-voltage distribution grids. SIEMENS' comprehensive outdoor portfolio of switching devices is designed for a wide variety of applications and climatic conditions. Type-tested reliability as well as long electrical life and mechanical robustness help to minimize operation costs while increasing resiliency of medium-voltage smart grids. Solutions for wildfire mitigation available on select products.

Responsibilities:

Performance management, coaching and development, department cost center budget controls, establishing best practices / processes, and driving continuous improvement.

People/Leadership:

  • Recognized as a leader by peers and management in the accomplishment of complex projects such as product development and redesign efforts, design reviews, design and manufacturing processes development and improvement, all while managing scope, schedule and cost requirements to obtain optimum effectiveness and customer satisfaction for our Overhead switch products.
  • Demonstrates leadership and responsiveness toward customer satisfaction and improved delivery of services.
  • Demonstrates advanced understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management and the ability to be a change agent / driver of our Ownership culture.
  • Interprets high level targets and metrics into terms of department and individual deliverables.
  • Aligns policies/products and development efforts with company strategies.
  • Partners with other departments / teams within the Overhead switch factory to support overall factory outcomes.
  • Looked to for both technical and organizational coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with all other colleagues.
  • Recognized as leader in problem solving, both technical and organizational.

Financials:

  • Establishes, maintains and adjusts engineering budgets.
  • Generates estimates of personnel loading for department.

Innovation:

  • Consistently identifies opportunities for improvement, both organizationally and technically.
  • Effectively champions and enacts others' innovations where beneficial to the company.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering preferred with proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Typically, 10+ years of successful experience including experience in management of mechanical, electrical, controls, software and systems engineering.
  • Experience in defining and improving engineering processes.
  • Experience with design engineering and product lifecycle management tools such as AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical, 3-D Design tools (NX / Solidworks / Inventor), Teamcenter etc.
  • Proven track record of managing and controlling Product Development / R&D projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience in data analysis, synthesis and reporting
  • Ownership attitude when interfacing and coordinating with other business functions such as SCM, PLM, and Sales.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mechanical design for overhead switch products, preference given to experience with SIEMENS products.
  • Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) solutions (SAP, Oracle, etc). Preference to SAP.
  • Experience with cloud-based CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solutions (SalesForce, Microsoft Dynamics, etc). Preference to SalesForce.
  • Experience working with electrical distribution products and systems.
  • A Master’s Degree in Engineering is a plus with extra consideration given if degree concentration is in the area of power systems.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards. - Registered Professional Engineer

  • The pay range for this position is $100,450 - $172,200 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
