Why Safety?
Safety is Roblox’s top priority. As part of our Safety Organization, the Content Safety Team, builds features and tools to automate review of content on the platform. Areas that the Team works on include:
- Experience reviews,
- The components that make up those experiences (textures, 3D meshes, models, scripts),
- Avatars, Avatar items
- Audio, Video
- and other content types
As a Senior/ Principal Product Manager, you will work closely with leadership, product, engineering, design, data science, and operations teams across Roblox. In addition, you will drive critical company-level KPIs that affect how Roblox keeps the platform safe and civil. As we bring new immersive features and content types to Roblox, you will be responsible for leading the product in one of the most meaningful and vital roles at Roblox.
The role reports to Director of PM and is based in our San Mateo, CA office (no remote option) with in-office days Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
You Will:
- Lead the Content Safety product team who are primarily passionate about automation and applied machine learning
- Stay one step ahead of malicious actors and their adversarial tactics
- Work across many modalities of Machine Learning (image, audio, video, 3D, code)
- Ensure our users have a great experience end to end when they are building content on the platform
- Solve problems that are unique in the industry due to the large population of younger users on Roblox
- Prepare and lead product requirements from conception to launch
- Balance input from a wide variety of internal team members and partners with potentially challenging priorities and timelines
You Have:
- 8 -10 years of experience in product development roles
- Experience in building and deploying machine learning solutions at a large scale and in real time
- Experience in Trust & Safety related functions or other areas with adversarial dynamics. Preferably in a user generated content environment
- Understanding of social platforms (familiarity with game engines would be a plus).
- Extreme clarity in communication. Ability to summarize sophisticated situations in a few sentences and efficiently articulate your vision to c-staff level executives, cross functional partners, and other key stakeholders
- Versatile thinking, crafting opportunity out of uncertainty and ambiguity
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
