Role Summary
The Autonomy org at Rivian is seeking a Sr Software Engineer, Data Applications(Triage and Simulation) to join the Data team who can provide expertise in cloud, data applications and collaborate with technical and business users. We are seeking a Software Engineer who will be developing large-scale applications using the latest cloud services technologies, AWS resources, and UI frameworks. You’ll be building from the ground up with an obsession towards
helping the Autonomy team go as fast as possible and manage applications which supports reading petabytes of sensor data.
In this role you will work with the Autonomy Cloud, Data, Triage, Simulation and other Technology Partners to leverage best practices and reference architectures highlighting AWS Cloud Platform and Application development best practices.
Responsibilities
- Partner with architects, product management, and engineers on requirements, architecture and design
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build user-friendly, immersive, reactive applications. Drive new UX/UI ideas, communicate and document them
- Take the scale and performance of the applications to the next level using in-house, open-source, and cloud tools and technologies
- Ensure a high product quality bar is maintained by creating automated tests for the developed code
- Build Full stack web applications with JavaScript/TypeScript and Web Frameworks(react)
- Build backend and RESTful APIs services with Go/Python and utilize databases like MongoDB for data storage
- Build User Interfaces with CSS and support cross-browser compatibility
- Deploy Fullstack web applications using CI/CD Pipelines, Git, Kubernetes, and AWS Technologies
Qualifications
- Master’s in computer science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent in related field, and at least 5 years of relevant experience; or at least 7 years of industry experience
- Experience leading the project, bringing products from proof of concept to manufacturing and through market launch
- Take the scale and performance of the applications to the next level using in-house, open-source, and cloud tools and technologies
- 7+ yrs. of software engineering and full stack application development
- 5+ yrs. with Javascript/Typescript, and Web Frameworks (preferably React)
- 5+ yrs. of experience in back-end languages with Python or Golang or nodejs
- 3+ yrs. of experience in Databases like Mongodb, Postgres NoSql experience is preferred
- 2+ yrs. with CSS, cross-browser compatibility, and Design System
- 2+ yrs. with mockup UX/UI ideas, communicate, and document them
- Experience with AWS Cloud, Autonomy Data Applications like Triage and Simulation is plus
