Role Summary

Rivian is seeking a creative, action-oriented member of the Product Communications Team who will focus on touting the software and innovative technology that operates Rivian’s vehicles and brings helpful, delightful features to owners. You will have excellent media relations skills and strong judgement. Experience in creating proactive campaigns, and content development skills are crucial in addition to a love for software-driven technology.

You will be passionate about Rivian, sustainability, climate, an excellent problem solver and strategic thinker, a fast learner and able to focus on the details.

To be successful in this role, you must thrive in fast paced, ambiguous and unexpected environments, tackling all challenges with a flexible and solution-oriented mindset. You will know how to remove blockers and work cross-functionally to achieve alignment among internal stakeholders. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Product Communications.


Responsibilities

  • Create and execute proactive and reactive communications for Rivian’s software features and technology, amplified through a variety of tactics including media relations, digital content, community engagement, influencers, and more.
  • Lead communications for the many strategic partners Rivian integrates with across technology and infotainment sectors.
  • Use measurement tools to assess the impact of communications programs.
  • Establish programmatic approaches for an ongoing cadence of external moments.
  • The ideal candidate will continue to extend and deepen Rivian’s relationships beyond traditional tech media and find new storytelling methods to include new platforms, verticals, and creators.
  • Work closely with our Product and Engineering leads to ensure an integrated approach where activity and messaging is fully aligned.

Qualifications

  • 7-9 years of experience in a similar field.
  • Persuasive writer with ability to grok technical topics.
  • Deeply passionate and optimistic about technology.
  • Organizational expert with ability to track multiple features, software releases, and create comms-wide resources and sources of truth in a fast-paced environment. Adapts easily to fluctuation.
  • Ability to drive a big picture strategy while managing day to day business needs.
  • Established relationships with key members of tech and mainstream media.
  • Experience in cross functional, collaborative environments.
  • Results driven mindset with a resilient ability to drive alignment in ambiguous situations.
  • Has an entrepreneurial mindset and applies a scrappy and resourceful approach to everything. Solve problems and overcome challenges with creativity and ingenuity.
  • Strong team-oriented mindset, able to spot opportunities for collaborative approaches.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $125,000 - 200,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
