Test software functions, interfaces, performance and security, as well as study customer needs and align the testing to customer scenarios, patch and fix software errors.

*Telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S.

What You Will Do:

  • Install and upgrade the software system to verify the software functions and find system bugs.
  • Patch and fix software errors to improve the quality and customer experience. Use performance testing tools and methodologies to advocate system performance and bottlenecks.
  • Enhance test coverage for customer scenarios by learning customer demands and feedback.
  • Follow testing methodologies to proactively catch bugs and errors in the product before the software product is released to the customer.
  • Write automated test programs and scripts, and collaborate with the documentation team to assess accuracy, adequacy and quality of documentation.
  • Work with a team of engineers who work on functional quality engineering of OpenShift products to review their current tasks and assign new tasks from the backlog.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience with: testing the back end or middle tier of enterprise software systems; Agile software development and test methodologies; and software programming using Bash, Go or Python.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience with: provisioning test infrastructure in on-premises clouds; software configuration management using Git; automation with a test framework; and Linux operating system including operating system installation, administration and troubleshooting.

The salary range for this position is $116,390 - $186,310. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
