Job Description Summary:
A Business Operations lead for our Global Analytics and Data Science organization. The role's scope entails ownership of day-to-day operations like Workforce Planning and budget management, as well as the operating rhythm of the group, and any other need for operational support.

Job Description:
The Global Analytics and Data Science org (GADS) is PayPal's central hub for machine learning modeling and analytics insights and reporting. Our team serves all business functions in the company, providing them with first-class solutions as "force multipliers" for business decision-making. We are a highly technological team, with hundreds of talented data scientists that work on actual business problems, essential to PayPal's success.

The Senior Manager of Business Operations for GADS owns the day-to-day operations of the team, to enable scale and smoother operations for our organization and its leadership.

Such activities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Workforce Management (tracking hiring, planning, process management, etc.) and execution of leadership decisions around the workforce.
  • Budget management (planning, tracking execution, identifying opportunities)
  • Coordinating and scaling the org's operating rhythm, such as operating reviews, leadership offsites, staff meetings, and any other relevant activities
  • Leadership interface and communication with the teams (All Hands, visits, written comms)
  • Own, coordinate, or support any relevant cross-domain or central initiative as they may arise, such as the team's longer-term strategy, coordination with close partner organizations, team's culture and talent development, geo footprint, etc.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for enterprise initiatives as they arise, and to our business partners across HR, Finance, Comms, etc.
  • Any other challenge or initiative that would make our organization more successful

The ideal candidate would demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Attention to detail, well-organized, and highly disciplined
  • Ability to "see the bigger picture" of the team's activities and needs, and tailor the operational support accordingly.
  • Thriving in a complex corporate environment, across domains, personalities, locations, and cultures.
  • Independence and maturity: Working on their own with minimal guidance, and serving as a reliable partner around sensitive issues

A strong preference for PayPal veterans, especially those with operations experience, in light of the need to understand the internal processes, tools, and networks.

Actual Compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to work location, and relevant skills and experience.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $99300 to $216040
