NVIDIA’s Thermal Engineering Product Team is looking for a Thermal Validation Engineer who will contribute to developing and implementing world class validation, characterization, instrumentation, processes, and prototyping activities related to development of NVIDIA’s Gaming, High Performance Compute and AI, Automotive, Robotics, and other products. What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be characterizing thermal designs and electronic assemblies: Building-up physical prototype assemblies, instrumenting assemblies for testing, carrying out testing with specific diagnostic software, summarizing data, disassembling, modifying and reassembling systems.

  • Collaborating with cross-disciplinary and multi-functional teams to define and implement hardware test plans and collect data according to plans, analyzing and summarizing data

  • Developing, documenting, implementing, and validating test methods

  • Developing and defining appropriate instrumentation and processes to further continuous improvement, learning, and growth

What we need to see:

  • BSME minimum (or equivalent experience)

  • 2+ years of related experience in electronics validation

  • Fundamental understanding of heat transfer

  • Knowledge/experience with thermal evaluation of electronic systems

  • Experience in computer/server system-level set-up and validation

  • Expertise in Windows and Linux software related to set-up, functional testing, and validation of computer hardware

  • Strong testing, debugging, data summary, documentation, and organization skills

  • A naturally collaborative self-starter that thrives working with other engineering teams as well as independently

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • 2+ years of direct experience in testing products in at least one of the following categories namely PCIe cards, servers, consumer devices and automotive ECUs

  • Expertise in thermal measurement instrumentation, data acquisition, and other methodologies, e.g., thermocouple placement and attach, obtaining readings using automated data acquisition, mechanical assembly and disassembly

  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting/programming languages

  • Experience and familiarity in standard methodologies of maintaining, organizing, and improving the usability of an engineering laboratory

The base salary range is 100,000 USD - 166,750 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
