Role Summary
Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) is an over trillion-dollar investment management firm entrusted by investors around the globe to help them navigate changing market environments, so they can confidently realize their long-term objectives.
Sr. Engagement Manager is responsible for driving NTAM’s most strategic, complex, and highly valued initiatives from inception to execution to accelerate the firm’s right to win. This role reports into the NTAM Head of NTAM Platform Innovation under the COO organization and closely partners with NTAM’s senior leadership. The right candidate is a seasoned multi-disciplinary leader with alternatives domain knowledge, strong execution, influencing and problem solving skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Be part of the Platform Innovation team stood up to enable NTAM’s most pressing strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include:
Apply business consulting skills to drive strategic business transformation initiatives from visioning to operationalization. Versatility to dive in at specific phases of the initiative or drive it end to end.
Scoping, structuring, planning of complex initiatives involving multiple teams, disciplines and/or ambiguous issues.
Plan and facilitate discovery, event storming and planning workshops to unearth needs, feedback/alignment.
Collaborate with cross functional NTAM or NT teams to understand priorities and needs that influence plan, assess and communicate implications to key initiative stakeholders.
Establish and communicate plans, roadmaps, governance structures, OKRs to business and technical teams
Engage and influence stakeholders at different levels of the organization from C-Suite to working group.
Anticipate risks, issues and jointly identify action or mitigation plans to drive decisions or course correction.
Monitor progress and collaborate with responsible stakeholders to tackle and resolve issues/roadblocks.
Own program reporting tailoring messaging for working groups, steering committee, enterprise audiences.
Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, fostering an environment that encourages participation, collaboration, and communication.
Identify applicability and shepherd engagements through relevant Change Management, Architecture, and other governance forums.
Necessary Knowledge and Skills
Strong business consulting and problem-solving skills
Highly flexible, adaptable to change and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
Leadership and organizational skills are required to translate strategic goals into tangible actions plans and mobilize teams
Dynamic relationship building and partnership skills across distinct levels of the organization.
Excellent written and presentation skills with ability to flex messaging based on audience.
Strong organizational, analytical, and influencing skills are required
Ability to lead, prioritize, and deliver multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Global outlook with sensitivity and awareness of social and cultural differences
Strong situational awareness and decision-making capabilities
Necessary Experience and Education
15+ years of overall experience; deep experience in leading diverse complex business transformation initiatives from end-to-end in a matrixed environment.
Asset Management with exposure to Private Equity or Hedge Funds space highly desired.
Strong business consulting skillset in management consulting or an internal consulting team is required.
Experience in interviewing and facilitating discovery/design/planning workshops is required.
Experience in driving end to end program management, change and value delivery in matrixed organizations.
Demonstrated experience in crafting and leveraging metrics to establish and measure value delivery.
Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Project Planning; PowerBI knowledge a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.
Salary Range:
$137,400 - 240,400 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
