Job Description
The Sr. Business Analyst is part of a key team of professionals managing Workforce Management programs and initiatives that deliver significant business value to Nordstrom and its customers. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about customer service and will serve as a customer advocate throughout projects, in addition to supporting company goals at a strategic level. This individual is well versed in defining business problems and translating client need into business requirements. They are able to ask the right questions, dig into the information provided, and extrapolate key learnings that will feed into strategic workstreams driven by our team.
A day in the life…
Development of business case and requirements documentation for key projects and reporting, driving projects forward through configuration, testing, and implementation in partnership with WFM Data Analytics and our HR Technology Delivery Team
Partner with business teams to understand their analytics needs and identify opportunities to enhance our product offering
Address store concerns via service requests, combining data analysis and knowledge of business trend to offer strategic guidance across all levels of leadership and share best practice on how to effectively leverage our tools
Production support for bug fixes and reporting issues, driving daily business needs
Maintain efficient Quality Assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and quality of data
Provide exceptional customer service through professionalism, ownership, and initiative
Work closely with the WFM Program Managers to support efforts throughout the project lifecycle
You own this if you have…
3+ years of experience in business, project and/or process engineering (combined business, system development, and implementation)
2+ years of experience as a business analyst or project lead
Knowledge of business tools, processes, and systems used in online retail (preferred)
Experience with Workday (preferred)
Experience with workforce management, scheduling tools (preferred)
Understanding of the software development lifecycle and its variations
Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies
Proficiency with MS Office Suite and MS Visio
Proficiency with database queries and data analysis
Experience developing business process flows and wireframes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively
