WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will be part of the Nike Consumer, Product & Innovtion team. We are looking for strong technical skills, the instinct to automate everything, a deep understanding of integration patterns, and a focus on providing scalable and sustainable solutions. We need a self-starter with the desire to grow, bringing an acute attention to detail and a proven track record of creating excellent customer and partner relationships.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a technically proficient, hands-on, and experienced full-stack Lead Software Engineer to join the Product Creation-CPI technology team.

  • You’ve led a team of engineers with varying skill levels for at least 2 years.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of relevant professional experience, education, and training.
  • 3+ years of diverse experience in deployments/developments in the public cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred: EC2, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, ASG, ELB, Security groups etc.).
  • Diverse and deep full-stack experience in JVM language development and data management, micro- services, REST Web Services.
  • Advanced working knowledge of RDS databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and Postgres as well as experience with NoSQL data stores such as DynamoDB.
  • Experience working in a large-scale agile environment.
  • Knowledge of various continuous delivery patterns.
  • Experience with DevOps practices required.
  • Experience with source control.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Experience with Splunk, New Relic, and/or SignalFx.
  • Comfortable working with globally distributed and diverse teams.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

In this role, you will support key foundational solutions that power the Product Creation Sample Management capabilities to continuously deliver Nike product. The squad you support will own full stack applications as well as products on monolithic solutions to deliver value to our partners.

As the lead engineer of the team, you'll be expected to:

  • Lead feature/solution delivery with diverse team members, work as mentor for junior team members.
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of developers including providing daily guidance, setting coding standards, and reviewing code.
  • Deliver solutions using scalable, resilient, cloud-native patterns.
  • Develop/enhance tools and frameworks to improve the security, reliability, and maintainability of our cloud solutions, good understanding of distributed systems.
  • Lead the design and development of technical solutions that meet the needs of the business and align with architectural and quality standards.
  • Represent the team in roadmap planning, visioning, and strategy sessions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on continuous delivery patterns and software-defined infrastructure in a DevOps and micro-services focused organization.
  • Deliver well-documented and well-tested code and participate in peer code reviews.
  • Partner with other engineering teams to build scalable solutions adhering to best practices and minimizing tech debt.
  • Partner closely with Technical/Engineering Director and Product Managers to provide feedback on skill sets, training opportunities and gaps of the team members.
  • Drive new ideas and partner closely with Product Creation Delivery management team to identify / resolve operational bottlenecks and methodology gaps.
