The Role
This Production Finance Manager will partner with the Netflix Production Finance Animation Series team to manage our self-produced and partner-produced Animation slate. This role is based in Hollywood and is onsite Mon-Thurs.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with and influence internal cross-functional partners and external partner studios to deliver the highest quality original animated content.
Though partner to key cross-functional leadership to help drive the direction of their business by providing forward-strategic thinking and impactful analytics.
Manage and develop a team of associates.
Research, develop, and test new technologies to influence the next generation of production finance tools, and incorporate them into the Production Finance workflow.
Liaise with Labor Relations, Content Accounting, Internal Audit, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and IT to ensure Production Finance policies and procedures are current, and effectively implemented on our productions.
Assist in preparing initial development and production budgets.
Provide feedback to external partner studios on budgets, workflows, and reporting.
Process show funding and track talent payments in accordance with deals and schedules.
Work with show accountants and partner studios to drive accurate, complete, and timely cost reporting - protecting and managing show assets and supporting production. Ensure cost reports are submitted on time and are accurate.
Keep abreast of current and changing industry trends, evolving technologies, and production incentives.
Occasionally, travel to partner studios to review workflows and organizational abilities and create strong relationships that facilitate better reporting and metrics.
Qualifications
Passionate about Animated content.
Must have Animation production finance and/or production accounting experience.
Broad understanding of production incentives.
Ability to lead and manage a team.
Solutions-focused.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, disciplined, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
Must exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics.
Understanding of union labor agreements and union requirements, particularly IA839 (The Animation Guild), WGA, and SAG.
Expert skill level in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Familiarity with GL Systems (such as Workday), PAS systems (such as Global Vista, PSL+), and IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) is a plus.
A college degree with a focus in accounting or finance is a plus.
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $160,000 - $470,000.
