The role is within Wealth Management in the Alternative Investments Business supporting products such as hedge funds, digital assets, private equity, private credit and private real estate. Morgan Stanley has one of the largest alternative investments platforms in the industry and it is one of the fastest growing segments of the firm. The Alternative Investments Platforms Team is responsible for leading strategic initiatives to enhance its technology portfolio as well as application reengineering efforts with the ultimate goal of improving the financial advisor/client experience and increasing operational efficiency. Examples of key initiatives include digitizing processes that were historically paper-based and manual, creating digital pathways for clients to interact with alternative investment products, etc. The candidate will work closely with the various groups within the different business areas (sales, product, operations, etc.) and across Wealth Management to manage initiatives throughout the product development life cycle.

- Bachelor's Degree

- Ideal candidate will have 7+ years of relevant finance industry experience, preferably within FinTech or the Alternative Investments product area

- Strong understanding of software development processes and frameworks, including Agile methodologies and demonstrated ability of working with engineering teams

- Not required but preferably has a solid understanding of alternative investment products (private equity, private credit, real estate, hedge funds, digital assets, etc.)

- Basic understanding of user experience and user interface design principles, as the role involves creating user-friendly technology products

- Deep reasoning and critical thinking skills with the ability to understand and scope multi-dimensional problem sets, identify, and escalate risks. Ability to produce solutions while balancing several considerations

- Experience in leading cross-functional teams, mentoring junior staff, and driving project success

- Ability to thrive in a mission-critical dynamic environment, often dealing with ambiguity and needing to come up with solutions on the spot

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to impactfully and effectively interact with senior management as well as stakeholders from various functional areas

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, JIRA, Figma

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
