Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. Our mission is to deliver capacity for all cloud services predictably through intelligent systems driven by continuous learning and a world class organization. The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.

Cloud Sourcing, Supply Chain, Spares and Security (CS4) organization within CSCP manages sourcing and supply of IT hardware for the data centers. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. We are seeking a high caliber Program Manager for Commodity Qualification to join CS4 to manage and oversee critical commodity qualification initiative, which entails ownership and management of end-to–end commodity qualification processes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
    • OR Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years program management or related work experience in commodity qualifications or manufacturing operations or supply chain.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 3+ years program management or related work experience in commodity qualifications or manufacturing operations or supply chain.
  • Experience working in commodity qualification testing and related processes
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills including advanced MS Excel, Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross functional setting.

Sourcing Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.

Responsibilities

As a Program Manager for commodity qualifications, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Detailed program management of qualification testing initiatives including SKU design layout, determining quantity of hardware required, tracking hardware purchases, lab space and capacity
  • Program managers will work closely with key stakeholders to drive on time qualifications and ensure CS4’s production, non-production requirements in today’s supply environment
  • Manage and lead the commodity qualification request, scheduling and prioritization with engineering, Sourcing and Supply chain, Component planners, spares and others, working with the qualification labs to ensure seamless execution
  • Collaborate with engineering team to efficiently track pre-qualification to streamline downstream process
  • Work with programs leads to drive automations, process efficiency projects, resolutions of critical commodity qualifications and support operational growth
  • Collaborate and forge strong relationships with engineers and technical teams involved in server commodity testing and performance analysis
  • Lead weekly v-team meetings to update and track the progress and status of qualifications with stakeholders
  • Interface with NPI and product qualification team to determine commodities to map on platforms and qualify to support next gen infrastructure deployment
  • Interface with non-production and spares LCM team to determine spares commodity qualification requirement including HW and sample dependency
  • Ideate and build analytics to measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational efficiency
  • Use tools like power BI, ADO, OnePDM to drive data driven decisions with dashboards for communication to leadership.
  • Actively contribute to process and system efficiency to reduce commodity qualification cycle time by developing analytical solutions
