The Global Customer Success (GCS) organization, an organization within CE&S, is leading the effort to enable customer success on the Microsoft Cloud by harnessing leading, AI-powered capabilities and human expertise to deliver innovation solutions that accelerate business value, drive operational excellence and nurture long term loyalty.


The Customer Success Innovation and Acceleration Team (IAT) Chief Architect Office is looking for a Senior Software Engineer- Chief Architect Office to support strategic customer relationships, complex customer success plans and executive projects and initiatives.


As a technical resource engaging with customers, partners, and the engineering community, this person is in an advantageous position to find opportunities to better serve our most strategic customers, as well as identify areas for platform improvement.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or Powershell.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with developing and/or deploying complex solutions to production on cloud platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience as a practicing solution architect

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with developing and/or deploying complex solutions on Microsoft cloud platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience as a customer-facing architect and/or technical lead with Microsoft cloud technologies and services.
  • Proven track record with successful delivery and execution of specific cloud projects/programs.
  • Breadth of knowledge across industries and solution areas.
  • Business acumen and effective communication skills.
  • Commitment to the growth mindset exemplified by continued learning and demonstrated willingness to stay abreast of cloud advancements, including relevant cloud trends across the competitive landscape.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities

• Strategic customer and partner advocacy and support of end-to-end strategic designs across technical domains.
• Closely following industry trends and insights to advise on the Customer Success delivery strategy and influence engineering priorities.
• Regularly evangelize Microsoft Cloud strategy and vision as an industry leader while providing technical oversight in strategic customer deployments.
• Engage with customers at a CTO/Chief Architect level to help shape technology strategies and architectural patterns that accelerate business outcomes.
• Technical advisor to Customer Success leadership team for internal initiatives related to definition, enablement and execution of delivery roles.
• Accelerate technically complex cloud consumption opportunities through partnership with customer, field, and engineering organizations.
