Overview

The Azure DevOps team, part of Microsoft's Developer Division, is looking for a Senior Product Manager to help us develop and maintain features and experiences in core product areas and deliver them to millions of developers around the world.

Microsoft’s Developer Division (“DevDiv”) is chartered with empowering every developer and every development team on the planet to build great software faster. We build developer platforms, tools, and services to enable anyone from citizen developers to seasoned professional developers to be successful in realizing their software’s potential from local to cloud development.

Azure DevOps is an integrated DevOps platform that helps software development teams plan smarter, collaborate better, and ship faster. It's the DevOps tool of choice for many of Microsoft's biggest and most important customers, including Microsoft itself.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager with deep customer empathy, passion for design, and strong technical aptitude. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work with a globally distributed, diverse and passionate team. You will drive the vision and design for Azure DevOps product features, evangelize their usage, and help customers use them effectively in their DevOps transformations.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree AND 5+ years of product management, program management, or equivalent experience with demonstrated ability to discover opportunities and define and deliver products.
  • Experience building features for a cloud service/application, SaaS at scale.
  • Familiarity with modern software development practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree AND 7+ years of experience.
  • Prior experience in building developer-centric products

Responsibilities

As part of your responsibilities, you will:

  • Own the product vision for an area in Azure DevOps. Ensure that it aligns with the overall product and company vision, and help our customers succeed.
  • Manage the roadmap. Make tough tactical prioritization decisions while helping the company think long-term. Build trust with stakeholders by maintaining an understandable, accurate roadmap.
  • Be the voice of the customer. Work closely with several large customers including teams within Microsoft to synthesize their requirements and design solutions to meet them efficiently.
  • Collaborate across teams. We win or lose as a team. Product managers play a critical role in creating alignment between engineering teams and stakeholders. A collaborative attitude is essential to the job.
  • Measure success. Own the measures used to define success for your product. Success measures are defined at the inception of a product and tracked throughout its lifecycle. Make measures visible to all stakeholders and interpret them into actionable conclusions and new hypotheses.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, collaboration, and customer focus.
