A Day in the Life

As a Senior Finance Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial processes and strategies while fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for providing financial insights, ensuring data accuracy, and influencing key business decisions. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to thrive in a matrixed organization & proven ability to operate independently and drive results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting:

    • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to provide guidance on financial modeling, economic research, and trend analysis.
    • Conduct variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning, and expense comparisons using profit and loss statements and income statements.
    • Prepare and review reports, compile financial plans, and deliver actionable insights to management.
  • Operational Excellence:

    • Develop, maintain, and establish operational specifications for financial systems, ensuring smooth information flow and accurate reporting.
    • Actively participate in the Tier system processes and perform Gemba to identify and solve problems.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Visualize and master complex end-to-end processes, understanding connections between data elements.
    • Drive continuous improvements in reporting and analysis to support business objectives.
  • Business Partnering:

    • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to influence and support decision-making processes.
    • Provide financial insights to monitor business performance by unit, division, or group.
  • Leadership:

    • Manage and develop a team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and fostering a culture of inclusion and engagement.
    • Mentor and coach staff to meet or exceed performance expectations, while driving departmental initiatives.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • Exposure to and working knowledge of financial systems, including ERP systems like SAP or BPCS.
  • Experience in a large matrix organization.
  • Background in manufacturing finance or product costing.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of key drivers of success.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to leverage data and metrics for decision-making.
  • Proficiency in tools like Power BI.
  • Experience operating within a COE (Center of Excellence) model.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$144,000.00 - $216,000.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
