A Day in the Life
Are you looking to drive strategic cost improvement initiatives for the leader in the Medical Technology industry? As a core member of the Value Analysis/Value Engineering team supporting Strategy and Technology, you will have responsibility for leading margin expansion programs that drive cost improvements across the network of Medtronic manufacturing plants around the globe. You will work closely with Product Engineers and Sites/Platforms to deliver on an achievable cost savings roadmap over a 5-year horizon. You will be at the forefront of Medtronic’s Mission to Alleviate Pain, Restore Health, and Extend Life by improving our capability to deliver life-saving products and support new product innovation.This role can be based at any Medtronic location within North America
Leads or leverages cross functional teams to execute projects to deliver margin expansion opportunities
Organizes and leads critical stakeholder meetings to move project ideas from Feasibility to Execution
Works closely with team members to ensure adherence to VAVE governance process; may own a portion of the governance process and associated deliverables
Develops and deploys change management across sites and teams to ensure adherence to standards and processes
Manages process to ensure best practices are implemented in developing project schedule and required resources across different classifications of products
Responsible for development of project requirements
Responsible for up-to-date data in Planisware for budget, schedule, savings and status and primary contact for finance partners to address spend and savings capturing
Interfaces extensively with other Medtronic business partners to gain alignment on project execution and overcoming roadblocks
Facilitates regular team meetings and stakeholder management meetings
Provides detailed meeting notes and next steps for programs
Determines the most appropriate technologies, tools, methodologies, and materials
required to support cost-down projects
Maintains and shares technical expertise within functional area and within industry
Works within Microsoft software suite
May assist Ideation managers in organizing VAVE events across all platforms
May creates business cases for projects and prepares initial project plan with estimated costs & savings
Some travel may be required
Must Haves
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of Business Process, Engineering Program Management and/or Project Management experience OR advanced degree and 3+ years of experience
Nice to Have
Medical Device industry experience
Advanced degree
PMP Certification
Degree in Engineering
Financial management skills
Demonstrated strong business acumen and planning experience
Strong communication skills -written, verbal, listening (with all levels of the
organization)
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to influence business leaders and individual contributors
