This position will lead all testing efforts for the Translational Research System team on Neuromodulation & Pelvic Health Implantable products such as cutting-edge neurostimulator systems for Deep Brain Stimulation, Spinal Cord Stimulation, and Sacral Nerve Modulation.
The individual will support all test-related phases of development including definition, design, troubleshooting, characterization, and verification of medical device research systems. The individual will be an integral part of the R&T organization delivering the highest quality, life changing technology to our patients. This role requires a strong background in testing, problem solving, and issue investigation with a passion for improving healthcare through technology.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
During initial system definition, assess intended functionality for clarity and testability and suggest functional enhancements
As functionality is developed for a system, informally exercise and confirm functionality using industry and internally developed tools.
Design and implement internal tools needed to aid development (e.g., data streaming, visualization, and analysis tools)
Identify functional design issues and collect diagnostic information to assist the correction of the issue.
Collaborate with other team members to investigate and resolve identified issues
Confirm correction of design issues after they are addressed
Identify and develop test scenarios for system functionality
Define, design, and validate any necessary components needed for the test environment
Conduct system integration and testing to ensure compatibility and functionality by authoring verification protocols, collecting test data, performing basic data analysis, and preparing reports
Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Engineering degree
Experience working with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, arb waveform generators, power supplies, multimeters)
Nice to Have
Experience in medical device industry
Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Strong “hands on” skills, with an ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Programming skills in LabVIEW, Python, C#, Java, MATLAB
