A Day in the Life
As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will be developing the next generation technology for the treatment of heart rhythm disorders. You will be responsible for developing novel electronics for measuring diagnostic signals and delivering ablation energy. You will learn under the guidance of some of the industry's prominent experts in the field of medical device engineering while working in a fun and collaborative office environment.The ideal candidate has experience designing, developing, and testing real-time, high-performance digital/analog electronics and FPGA firmware. The ideal candidate can take ownership of key hardware and firmware features while working collaboratively with other engineering teams and is passionate about working on a product that will have a positive impact on the lives of millions.
About the Affera Mapping and Ablation System
The Affera Mapping and Ablation System is an innovative medical technology designed to treat patients with cardiac arrhythmias. The system involves advanced mapping techniques to create detailed images of the heart's electrical activity, helping physicians identify abnormal areas causing arrhythmias. Once identified, the Affera Ablation System delivers targeted energy to disrupt these abnormal signals, restoring normal heart rhythm. You will be working on cutting-edge technology in the electrophysiology field. This role offers a rare chance to be at the forefront of developing groundbreaking technology that can disrupt the industry.
*This role will sit onsite at 320 Nevada St. #401, Newton, MA 02460 with the potential to work a hybrid schedule*
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct research, design, development, and testing of electrical hardware including mixed signal circuit boards, FPGAs, microcontrollers and electro-mechanical components.
Ensure reliability, develop technical specifications for production, analyze hardware configuration and processing solutions, and test hardware conformance to specifications; may include designing new or modifying existing products.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience architecting and implementing FPGA code and digital and mixed-signal board design
Experience with FPGA design using VHDL
Understanding of electronic design, analog/digital circuit design
Experience with ORCAD and Altium schematic capture and PCB layout tools
Ability to utilize lab test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic and network analyzers)
Ability to troubleshoot issues, analyze problems, and develop solutions using technical knowledge
Hands-on experience with system integration, debugging and testing
Experience in designing and testing medical equipment and familiarity with 60601-1 standard
C/C++ embedded device (microcontroller) programming experience is a plus
Ability to work in an agile development environment
Interest in gaining an understanding of cardiac electrophysiology
Staying current with new technologies and being able to quickly learn and apply new tools and techniques as needed
Ensuring accuracy and precision in technical tasks, which is crucial for quality and reliability
