Responsibilities:
This role will be helpful to do a lot of coordination on compliance and policies. I believe this will be similar to that of a Technical Program / Portfolio manager responsibility. I believe this will be a full-time responsibility dedicated to Compile for the near future. We can review later and see if this role will have additional bandwidth to take up additional responsibilities from other product teams.
Service Leadership:
Manage a team of service leads, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence aligned to McKesson’s ICARE and ILEAD values. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to ensure professional development and growth. Hire and retain top data engineering and data science talent, set performance expectations, conduct regular assessments, and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Collaboration with IT and Cloud Strategy:
Work closely with IT to leverage Azure cloud capabilities, ensuring seamless integration of data products with existing IT infrastructure. Oversee the implementation of cloud-based solutions, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency. Stay informed on the latest Azure cloud technologies and recommend their adoption as beneficial.
Process Optimization and Governance:
Establish and maintain processes for efficient data product development, including version control, quality assurance, and deployment strategies. Implement governance frameworks to ensure data security, compliance, and ethical use of data. Continuously evaluate and improve team workflows to enhance productivity and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Program coordination:
Cross functional collaboration: Act as the key interface between the product development team and MT, ensuring both teams are aligned on priorities and progress.
Schedule & milestone tracking: Create detailed program schedules, track milestones, and ensure deadlines are met across both teams.
Problem-solving: Act as a problem-solver when technical or process-related issues arise between product development and MT teams, facilitating collaborative solutions. Proactively address and resolve conflicts or misalignments between product development and MT teams.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders across the organization, ensuring clear communication and alignment on data initiatives. Translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant insights and recommendations. Foster strong relationships with business units to understand their needs and drive data-driven decision-making.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners to ensure the company has access to the best tools and services.
Financial Management:
Track and manage the financial performance of the Data product delivery, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure projects are delivered within budget and provide regular financial updates to senior management. Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation to maximize ROI.
Minimum Requirements
Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).
Critical Skills
- Have a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.,) infrastructure needs, and how they impact product development.
- Keep key stakeholders in MT and Compile updated on the program’s progress, issues, and solutions.
- Act as the POC to ensure the McKesson-Compile product development team is adhering to all security, compliance,
- Regularly review and audit the product development team to ensure compliance with internal policies as well as external regulatory requirements (eg: HIPPA, SOC 2, etc.,)
- Familiarity with data privacy standards, methodologies, and best practices
- Ability to assess potential security and compliance risks in new products and services and ensure mitigation plans are in place.
- As part of change management process, any security incident or compliance breach, coordinate between the product and technology teams to ensure a rapid, well-communicated response
- Lead post-incident analysis and implement changes to policies or processes to prevent further occurrences.
- Ensure that all teams are trained on compliance, security policies, and best practices.
- Ensure that the development team understand and implement policies related to cloud security and data governance, regularly updating them as per evolving industry standards.
- Deep understanding of modern data technologies, data architecture principles

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence technical teams, business leaders, and external partners.
- Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven track record of overseeing a portfolio of multiple projects and experience leading large-scale global transformation programs at a company with a global footprint.
- Strong change manager. Comfortable with change, especially that which arises through transformation. Able to lead a team effectively through times of change.
- Positive and flexible attitude to enable adjusting to different needs in an ever-changing environment
- Experience with data in the drug supply chain and commercial domain within healthcare (pharma is a plus)
- Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; comfortable managing trade-offs
- Ability to lead others without direct authority
- Highly influential and ability to educate stakeholders on the role of data and its purpose in the business
- Teams up and collaborates for speed, agility, delivery excellence and innovation
- Strong negotiation and decision-making skills

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
