Sr. Manager of Technical Program Management, Electrical and Vision Systems

The Vehicle Engineering – Electrical and Vision Systems team is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager of Technical Program Management (Module Lead). This group handles systems such as sensors, cameras, radar, HUD, lighting, electrical distribution systems, and wire harness. The role requires strong cross-functional team-building skills to ensure alignment with partners. As a Module/Sr. Module lead, you will support the Director/Sr. Director of Electrical and Vision Systems Engineering and manage a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs). Responsibilities include:
- Hiring, performance management, and development of the TPM team
- Implementing TPM best practices and training the team
- Collaborate with the Director of Programs in Vehicle Engineering to define, implement, and optimize processes
- Driving the team to achieve objectives and key results
- Planning technology development roadmaps with leadership
- Managing detailed Gantt charts and resolving schedule risks
- Cultivating a cross-functional network for risk resolution
- Managing hardware commodity milestones and progress
- Ensuring engineering, industrialization and validation programs stay on schedule
- Reporting team status and metrics
- Utilizing Jira, Confluence and Smartsheet for task tracking and documentation
- Providing regular updates to management and executive staff
- Supporting cost breakdown reviews and connecting teams with suppliers
- Organizing technical guidance for engineering challenges
- Holding weekly 1:1s and staff meetings to drive team development
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional work experience in technology and engineering fields
- 4+ years of work experience in technical program management
- 2+ years of experience as a people manager
- Experience with headcount planning, resourcing, and prioritization
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and aggressive program timelines
- Proficiency in program/project management tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and Gantt charts
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Professional experience in at least one of the following fields: electromechanical assemblies, harnesses, ADAS sensing, robotics, lighting, or machine vision
Advantageous
- 5+ years of work experience in automotive hardware related to electronics, sensing or lighting
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced startup environment with frequent prioritization adjustments
- Knowledge in cross functional development of electromechanical assemblies, firmware and software
- A positive attitude with a drive to learn and contribute meaningfully
- Experience in electrical manufacturing processes for products such as PCBs, harnesses, ADAS sensing, robotics, or similar
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technology field
- Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering preferred; Master's degree preferred
