The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Variability Reduction is an important member of the organization who will closely collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing team to clearly define quality acceptance standards and specifications based on the Voice of Customer at our manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, Arizona.

You Will:

  • Validate and characterize new processes, equipment, and fixtures for production implementation focused on damage-free
  • Create detailed manufacturing instructions to document quality critical characteristics
  • Support on designing production and inspection workstations for quality
  • Constant work with the Quality Control Management to work on reducing and eliminating defects contained on the single agenda for quality
  • Assist in developing and maintaining our quality strategy through a continuous improvement mindset and flawless action execution
  • Manage and own all quality metrics reporting and publishing, as well as presenting data and improvement planning to the factory leadership
  • Create and manage Control Plans and auditing strategies based on risk assessments and data from the factory and field
  • Perform completed vehicle audits and partner with issue owners on improvement activity
  • Drive product design improvements back to Design Engineering and support DFMA activities for new and existing products
  • Facilitate supplier quality issues and partner with suppliers on corrective actions
  • Travel up to 25%, occasionally on short notice

You Bring:

  • 5+ years of equivalent experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 3+ years of experience with a Masters Degree
  • 5+ years of equivalent experience required in the automotive Industry
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build outstanding teams and interface well with senior management
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Kaizen 5S
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
  • Capability to implement and drive a quality operating system within the Quality Control department.
  • Experience methodizing production workstations for ergonomics and efficiency
  • Ability to create improvement plans for quality with productive areas to achieve desired results
  • Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational and program management capabilities
  • Work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Remain engaged, pro-active, and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for their success
  • Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments
  • Maintain flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments, coping with rapidly changing information
  • 5+ years of related experience developing and launching complex assembly processes
  • Extensive proficiency creating written and pictorial documentation of manufacturing processes
  • Work independently with concepts and documentation from prototype to sustaining activities
  • Work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Remain engaged, pro-active, and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for their success
  • Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments
  • Maintain flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments, coping with rapidly changing information
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information to a general understanding, thinking abstractly and separating complex ideas into simple elements
  • Being creative and provide innovation idea to improve process/technology in the past projects is a plus
  • Communicate clearly using written and verbal skills
  • Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint and Proficiency with CATIA, 3DX experience
