Sr. Hardware Camera Engineer, ADAS

Join our innovative team at Lucid and help shape the future of automotive camera systems. As a Senior Camera Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge imaging solutions for advanced driver assistance systems.
You Will:
- Lead the evaluation and integration of state-of-the-art image sensor prototypes
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners on camera hardware design, prototyping, qualification, and production
- Develop comprehensive camera specifications and requirements for design, testing, and manufacturing
- Define and implement inter-system communication protocols for vehicle sensors
- Oversee vehicle-level verification, validation, and tuning of sensor hardware
- Contribute to sensor calibration and production manufacturing processes
- Work cross-functionally with Product Design, Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, and Optical Design teams
- Conduct thorough camera sub-system validation and testing, including image quality, electrical, and mechanical assessments
- Lead troubleshooting and diagnostic efforts using advanced tools
- Perform failure analysis and debugging of camera hardware at module and product levels
- Design and implement methodologies to identify, reproduce, and resolve complex design challenges
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in camera hardware development, prototyping, and testing
- Proven expertise in camera module design principles and image quality fundamentals
- Strong background in designing and performing laboratory experiments for camera testing
- In-depth knowledge of Electrical/EMC validation testing
- Comprehensive understanding of vehicle communication networks (automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN)
- Experience with sensor calibration and validation methods
- Proficiency in optical studies for image sensor and lens combinations
- Familiarity with camera-related SerDes architecture and GMSL2 video interface
- Excellent communication and project management skills
Advantageous:
- Experience with ANSYS SPEOS optical simulation tools
- Knowledge of automotive regulations and functional safety standards (FMVSS111, ISO 26262)
- Proficiency in Vector tools and applications (CANape, CANalyzer, CANoe, Vflash)
Education Requirements:
- BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields (minimum requirement)
- Advanced degree or Ph.D. preferred for senior positions
