KPMG is currently seeking a BTS Manager or Senior Manager, Japanese Practice Federal Tax to join our Business Tax Services practice.
- Provide tax compliance and advisory services to Japanese corporations, as well as operating partnerships for a variety of clients from Fortune 100 companies to emerging businesses
- Calculate and audit the provision for income taxes under ASC740
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide industry knowledge, and experience with our Japanese clients; manage teams of tax professionals, and assistants working on client projects
- Manage a portfolio of clients varying in size and scope, and act as the point of contact for internal and external clients; build and manage client relationships; advise clients, as well as be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice
- Oversee risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets; engage in and contribute to market, as well as business activities external to the firm
- Lead, counsel, and train teams of tax professionals on process and tax technical; performance management responsibilities
- Minimum five years of recent experience with corporate tax in an accounting firm, corporation and/or law firm
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Enrolled Agent (EA) or Juris Doctor (JD)/ Master of Laws (LLM), in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
- Experience with corporate taxation, operating partnerships, and tax provisions
- Proven experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams
- Fluent in both English and Japanese
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate complex information in both languages
- Minimum eight years of recent experience with corporate tax in an accounting firm, corporation and/or law firm

California Salary Range: $135700 - $273400
