Job Description
Primary Function of Position
Intuitive is looking for a manager-level Executive Communication lead to create, nurture, and execute a proactive, integrated executive communication strategy and roadmap that reflects the priorities for the US/Canada region and builds effective connections with key external and employee audiences. This includes acting as a strategic communication advisor and developing a range of communications for the senior vice president and general manager of US/Canada Commercial, the vice president of Global Corporate and U.S. Marketing, and as feasible, other senior leaders in the region.
The ideal candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills, a strategic orientation, strong organization and presentation skills, a bias toward action, and a desire to learn continuously. Critical to success will be relationship-building and collaboration with the U.S. Commercial and Marketing team and other with corporate teams, including media relations, investor relations, analyst relations, brand and creative, and employee communication to ensure priority corporate message amplification in the region.
This role will report to the Senior Director of Executive Communication. In this role, you will lead both external and organizational executive communication strategies and associated efforts for the region.
Essential Job Duties
In this role, you will lead both external executive communication and organizational (internal) executive communication strategies and associated efforts for the region.
For external executive communication, you will:
- Execute the regional executive communication support strategy.
- Collaborate on the development and amplification of executive narratives while driving awareness, support, and alignment of corporate executive narratives within the region.
- Lead the content development process for new presentations and revisions for recurring presentations, including event briefings, scripts, and talking points, collaborating with Social Media on social posts and the Creative Services team on design.
- Draft and produce written, oral, and digital communication, including blog posts, etc.
- Help the team to track and measure executive communication activities for the region.
- Facilitate the corporate Executive Communication Review & Approval (ECRA) process within region or country.
- Help build an executive coaching program to prepare and support regional spokespeople.
- Help facilitate localization and translation needs for executive communication content delivered and/or published in the region.
- Provide onsite executive support for Intuitive-sponsored events when needed.
For organizational (internal) executive communication:
- Podium presentations for regional Commercial and Marketing all-hands and summits
- Org announcements (emails and community posts)
- Presentations for Ops Reviews and Board meetings
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Seasoned communications professional with minimum 8-10 years of experience in executive and/or corporate communication.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills; demonstrated ability to clearly, compellingly communicate complex ideas, working directly with senior executives.
- Superior management and organization skills, especially the ability to monitor and manage multiple projects, events, and issues simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong track-record of operating within a highly matrixed global organization.
- Demonstrated ability to tailor materials to effectively communicate with multiple audiences, including colleagues in different departments and countries and different high-value stakeholders and audiences.
- Self-starter, detail oriented, proactive, ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Experience collaborating with designers and visual storytellers to amplify and illustrate concepts and build presentations intended for a variety of use cases from podium to virtual broadcast.
- Highly skilled in translating content into dynamic PowerPoint presentations and to present effectively to small and large groups.
- Experience in providing effective advice, counsel, and communication training/coaching to executives.
Required Education and Training
- Minimum BA or BS degree required
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Sales executive communication experience
- Healthcare experience, specifically medical device or pharma, or in another regulated industry
