About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Fraud and Abuse Prevention team. In this critical role, you will play a key part in safeguarding our platform and customers by developing and implementing cutting-edge solutions that proactively identify and mitigate fraudulent activities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Security, Compliance, Data Science, and Customer Support, to ensure a secure and trustworthy experience for our users.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements, analyze trends, and develop comprehensive solutions to combat fraud and abuse.
  • Design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable systems that effectively detect and prevent fraudulent activities while minimizing friction for legitimate users.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to the development of comprehensive documentation and best practices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to address production issues and ensure platform stability.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging threats in the fraud and abuse prevention landscape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE, Go, Python, or Kotlin.
  • Extensive experience with web services (REST or SOAP) and database technologies (SQL).
  • Deep understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and best practices (TDD).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and abuse pattern analysis.
  • Familiarity with modern architectural frameworks and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application in fraud detection.
