Job Duties and Qualifications
- Under general supervision, analyzes, troubleshoots, and tests electrical and/or electronics hardware and/or firmware for downhole tools and surface systems.
- In a manufacturing environment, diagnoses instruments and electrical and/or electronic systems problems through data sheet reviews, test reports, data analysis, PCB schematic review, and system level assembly and wiring diagrams.
- May provide guidance to technicians in order to Service, troubleshoot, repair, test electrical/electronics downhole tools and surface systems.
- May perform analytical troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electrical and/or electronic systems.
- Assists in handling field and manufacturing problems to maintain and improve products and services.
- Evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- May develop specifications, conduct process study, research investigations, and report preparation.
- May communicate through multiple levels of the organization findings and test results.
- Under general supervision, assists in the development and verification of new tests for electronics hardware for downhole tools and surface systems on an automated test platform developed in LABVIEW
- Assists in the development of electronics hardware for interfacing standard test hardware (oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, etc) with electronics hardware for downhole tools and surface systems.
- Documents designs including schematics, wiring diagrams, and source code in documentation database
- May provide support to production teams in a manufacturing environment in order to maintain and sustain automated test systems
- Incorporates reliability analysis during the design and test process.
- Complies with Halliburton HSE and Service Quality requirements.
- Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability, or operations.
Requirements:
- Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or similar discipline, and 2 years of related experience.
Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.
