Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience driving technical programs in cloud infrastructure or software engineering domains.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience evaluating tradeoffs in resource management to help accomplish the goals of the program.
  • Experience with technical program management outcomes from concept to launch.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity in growing and changing environments.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

This role falls under the Technical Infrastructure Programs organization. Our teams are responsible for delivering Google's cloud computing platform and tools that transition into powering Google's AI-first products, research, and cloud at a scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive software engineering scoping, execution, and delivery amongst cross-organizational teams.
  • Drive strategic and tactical decisions throughout all organizations and levels.
  • Build consensus, drive projects, and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, define requirements, and collaborate globally to create more efficient processes and tools.
  • Manage escalations and unblock obstacles, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of blockers and progress on a continuous basis.
