Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Spring Hill Assembly in Spring Hill, Tennessee on a full-time basis.

What You'll Do
Support the Plant Communication Manager in the execution of a site communication strategy focused on employee engagement, reputation and executive support.
Execute EV storytelling and develop amplification plans
Help identify and capture compelling stories that highlight our people and products
Manage and create content for the plant Facebook group and other aspects of internal communications, with an approach that is employee centric and builds upon a One Team approach to the business.
Engage employees through multiple mechanisms including face-to-face meetings, written communication, etc.
Compose articles and edit documents to meet strict deadlines
Design, develop and edit presentations
Assist in organizing and executing plant events to build employee enthusiasm, engagement
Tailor corporate messages / announcements for plant employees and the community, ensuring that GM speaks with one central voice in the region.
Assist the Plant Communication Manager in the development of a site-specific communications playbook that helps meet the unique needs of the facility.
Respond to, aid, and interact with local plant and headquarters partners as needed
Respond to and interact with external stakeholders and community partners as needed.
Assist in vetting, preparing and executing corporate leadership visits, VIP tours and media visits and special video shoots
Support key elements of the Workplace of Choice employee survey and corresponding actions plans needed, helping to close the engagement gap at the facility.
Respond to emerging issues and crisis communication as needed
Support media relations and manufacturing story placement
Help educate employees about GM vehicles, so they can be strong product ambassadors
Support the Plant Communications Manager with all other duties as required.
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelors in Communications or related field (Journalist, Marketing)
3 to 5 years of professional experience
Strong communication skills including writing, editing and presentation
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
Ability to deal with ambiguity in a dynamic environment: flexible, adaptable and creative
Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Experience in developing communications plans that drive business results
Computer skills: MS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word
Ability to build relationships and interact comfortably with employees at various levels, including represented employees
Internal communications and employee engagement experience
Familiarity with photography and video
Travel – less than 10 percent; required to support communication activities on 2nd and 3rd shift from time to time

Experience in crisis communications a plus
