Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

GM Motorsports Performance Engineering continues to expand! We are seeking a Sports Car Test and Development Engineer to work with existing race teams to ensure our component and static testing is being managed across parties and the data/results are valid. To accomplish this, you will aid in the testing and development of specific vehicle systems. You will assist in the design, implementation, operation and troubleshooting of various GM test fixtures and devices while collaborating with the race teams during all stages of life. Travel on a regular basis will not be required but you may be requested to provide live support at a test session or some key races.

What You’ll Do

  • Sub-systems dynamometer testing (brakes, uprights, steering, dampers, torsion bars, etc.)

  • Provide coordination and customer support during SPMM and Wind Tunnel testing

  • Complete smaller design tasks autonomously and work with the Design/Manufacturing groups on larger projects as needed

  • Provide hands on mechanical assistance when needed

  • Create reports and provide presentations

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or prior motorsports component testing experience

  • 2 or more years of professional motorsports experience

  • Systems and dynamometer test experience

  • CAD experience

  • Capable of thinking analytically, being client-oriented, and to be highly structured with excellent relationships and communicative skills to be able to work effectively with our GM Race Teams as well as internal GM personnel

  • Organizational skills that provide the ability to multi-task in a dynamic ever-changing environment and bring a strong work ethic and integrity

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time per year within the U.S. However, some may include international travel

  • This job may be eligible for relocation benefits
