Job Description

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center- Cadillac Tower three times per week, at minimum.

Welcome to a GM Envolve, General Motors’ brand that serves all Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Government (B2G) customers and their complete vehicle and solutions needs. The GM Envolve Marketing Manager develops the overall marketing strategy as it relates to GM’s business solutions supporting business and government customers. They bring together existing and new growth opportunities to drive message alignment for these impactful and meaningful products and services. The ability to create and consolidate GM's positioning along these growth opportunities is essential, while bridging current and future solutions for B2B and B2G customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the GM Envolve Marketing strategy.

  • Develop the marketing strategy for OnStar Business Solutions and all fleet customer connected experiences.

  • Be the "brand steward" for GM Envolve, driving the creative and messaging direction and governance of lines of business.

  • Establish cohesive go-to-market plan within GM across all lines of business serving B2B and B2G customers.

  • Develop creative scopes for agency partners for GM Envolve

  • Be the lead marketing manager for BrightDrop.

  • Lead all GM Envolve experiential marketing.

  • Partner with cross functional teams including Global Innovation, GM Energy, GM Financial and CCA teams on new B2B and B2G business initiatives from concept, through incubation period and integration to the core business.

  • Drive collaboration with all CRM, experiential, media, and social messaging amongst business offerings.

  • Collaborate to create the strategic direction for identifying and developing customer sales content and presentations, including sales enablement tools available to them.

  • Oversee competitive benchmarking, industry studies and customer research efforts.

  • Integration with product and solutions teams to ensure key vehicle and solution messaging and claims are identified and materials are supportive as content is developed.

  • Oversight of agency contracts, resource scoping and prioritization of projects

  • Ensure annual budget needs are represented across responsibilities while balancing expenses throughout the year to ensure spends are within budget.

Critical Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills are a must to ensure cross functional teams, direct reports, numerous agencies and vendors, and internal partners work together within advertising, events/experiential, CRM, digital and social media.

  • Proven track record across campaign development, customer targeting and personalization, executing large customer shows and CRM platform implementations will assure success for the selected candidate.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or related areas required.

  • 10 years of experience managing retail or B2B marketing activities.

  • 5-7 years of experience managing a team of direct reports.

  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience building highly effective teams.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership presentation skills

  • Ability to leverage data to make marketing decisions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding or experience in Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce

  • Experience developing and/or managing customer facing websites.

  • Relationship building/cross functional working ability and experience.

  • Knowledge of online audience targeting and media buying

  • Product launch experience

  • Strong understanding of campaign strategy and creative development

  • Familiar or experience in running customer research / focus groups.

  • Understanding of GM customer and sales databases

  • Knowledge of data collection and reporting

  • Knowledgeable in the latest sales enablement trends

  • Business Development experience
