Position Summary and Description
The GEICO finance organization is seeking a dynamic leader with technical and program management expertise. The Financial Systems Program Manager should possess a deep understanding of financial automation and transformation operations and strategy. The Program manager will oversee and coordinate the various projects and other strategic initiatives (working with Technology and Finance teams) throughout the Finance organization. This will be a crucial role in bridging the gap between finance, engineering, product, and design to support the vision for the CFO organization.
Position Responsibilities
Understand, and drive forward, the automation and systems strategy and roadmap for GEICO Finance.
Lead, plan and oversee a group of related technology projects in a coordinated way from inception through successful delivery.
Capture a roadmap of major work items to drive delivery of portfolio and program scope items
Act as liaison between Engineering, Finance and Product to facilitate a common understanding of project milestones, roles & responsibilities, and timelines.
Secure buy-in and engagement from all required stakeholders through continuous engagement, feature demonstration and approvals as needed. Ensure synergy and alignment across all operational departments.
Assist Finance and the systems and engineering teams in making trade-off decisions by considering all the data including business goals, technical platform strategy, user experience, value and efficiencies, risks, costs, etc.
Communicate any blocking issues, manage the resolution, anticipate bottlenecks and identify factors in contingency for unplanned delays.
Identify, asses, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels while collaborating with Business Leads, Engineering teams, and Systems/Product subject matter experts
Support Financial Systems leaders to provide executive-level reporting on financial systems performance against stakeholder and business objectives, strategic direction, and competitive positioning.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Management Information Systems, Finance, Business preferred) and/or equivalent relevant work experience
5+ years of portfolio/program management experience and leading delivery of technology solutions to meet business requirements
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Strong business acumen and proven track record demonstrating ability to deeply understand the needs of the business stakeholders.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to justify assumptions and develop business cases.
Preferred but not required
Understanding of insurance specific processes, their financial components and data processing requirements to ensure accurate financial and regulatory reporting.
Agility to manage changing expectations and priorities
Provide consultation on financial requirements for all business teams to create awareness and understanding of expectations for any corporate technology initiative. Serve as an escalation point, owning resolution with partners and senior business leaders, to include aligned expectations on priorities, scope, timing, and limitations.
Annual Salary
$95,325.00 - $148,625.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
