Job Description

Senior Global Supply Chain Manager

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

In this position...

The Senior Global Supply Chain Manager is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing a significant piece of Ford's global supply chain operations. This role requires extensive experience, strong leadership, and the ability to develop and implement innovative strategies to optimize the supply chain.

This high-visibility role will initially focus on a special project—building global supply chain capabilities and unlocking financial value by 2025. This project partners with a world-class third party and offers significant internal networking opportunities. The successful candidate will be a catalyst for broader supply chain transformation, acting as a role model and trendsetter. This requires resilience, strong business acumen, and a "play-to-win" attitude. Post-project, skills will be applied across multiple Ford buying teams.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Oversee and manage a team of supply chain managers.
  • Develop and implement long-term global sourcing strategies aligned with Ford's overall business objectives.
  • Manage a large portfolio of critical commodities, ensuring cost optimization, risk mitigation, and supply chain resilience.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across multiple departments and regions.
  • Develop and implement advanced cost models and forecasting techniques.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, environmental, and technological factors.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, driving efficiency and cost reduction across the supply chain.
  • Develop and manage significant budgets and resources.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
  • Present strategic supply chain plans and recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
  • Deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics, including manufacturing processes, materials, and geopolitical factors.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.

Even better, you may have...

  • MBA preferred.
  • Expertise in advanced supply chain management techniques and technologies.
  • Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Experience presenting to executive leadership.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above?

No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:

  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
  • Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
  • Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases
  • Tuition assistance
  • Established and active employee resource groups
  • Paid time off for individual and team community service
  • A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day
  • Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.
